Duration: 4 months
Tools: Figma, Miro, Hotjar

CONTEXT

Brazil's SMEs had a problem in 2022 that almost 20% of them had some trouble with default, that being the biggest cause to bankruptcy of those companies. All the existent products for SMEs are just focused on cash flow instead of taking a deeper look towards this issue.

// PROBLEM

The lack of information for SMEs regarding their clients is huge within Brazil, leading to many cases of default following bankruptcy.

// SOLUTION

To try to solve that, we decided to create a product that would notify the customer everytime that one of their clients had any kind of debt within BACEN.

// QUESTION

How to help SMEs to decrease the default and the risk of bankruptcy?

RESEARCH

We started by taking a look on every competitor's product in order to understand what were their mistakes and what they were doing correctly. After that, we refined it and began taking a look at everything we could do in order to make it easier for the customers to actually understand a bit more about their client's finances and how that could affect themselves.

IDEATION

Once we had the data analyzed and structured, we sketched different initial options for the main page, and then the components that would be within it. After everything was decided, we start making some wireframes and low-fidelity prototyping.

VISUAL LANGUAGE

As we were creating a new product for a existing branding. which already had a Design System, not a lot of work needed to be done, because most of the components already existed and could be used on this product. We just needed to make simple tweaks because as many products from Serasa were designed 20 years ago some components may not be up to date in terms of technology.

CONCLUSIONS

This was a great project to work with and a very challenge one. Being present since the beggining and participating from all the decisions was too important to evolve as a professional. Alerta had some problems during its making, mostly of them related to a need to rush and start getting money, but we had to stay calm and follow a few methods so that we could have a stable and good product.

Talking about prices, we learned that sometimes being a free product is better than charging the users for it, because the more customers are using it the faster you get insights and can change it to be better.
